*Full name of Pandit Karuppan – Kandathil Prambil Pappu Karuppan
*The name Karuppan was given to him by a Tamil Gosai who happened to be his family friend.
*Karuppan’s formal education began at the age of five under Azheekal Velu Vaidhyan.
* Pandit Karuppan was a Sanskrit scholar, poet and dramatist.
*For steering socio-economically and educationally backward communities to the forefront he was called – Lincoln of Kerala.
*At the age of 12, he wrote -Lankamardanam.
*The most significant period of his education was at – Kodungalloor Kovilakam
*He founded Araya Samajam in – 1907
*The first human right activist from Cochin State – Pandit Karuppan
*He spends more time and energy to uplift his own fisherman community.
*The first sabha that he organised at Anapuzha in Kodungalloor – Kalyanadayini Sabha-1912
*For the upliftment of the Pulaya community Karuppan along with K P Vellon founded – Cochin Pulaya Mahasabha (1913)
*He was appointed as the member of Cochin Legislative Assembly – 1925
* Pandit Karuppan died of Pleurisy (a type of lung disease) on 23rd March 1938.
