S Madhav, NCC cadet from the Sree Neelakanta Government Sanskrit College, Pattambi, has been selected as the best cadet in India in the Senior Division (Army) category.
The selection was made as part of the 2022 Republic Day parade. Every year, a selected team of cadets get a chance to perform in the national event. Madhav will receive the award from prime minister Narendra Modi on January 28 at a function to be held as part of the R-Day celebrations.
Madhav is second-year BBA student of the college. He was born to Kumaranelloor natives Sadasivan and Jaya.
Besides Madhav, Abdul Hashim and Hari Lakshmi from the Pattambi government college are participating in the parade in Delhi. They have been training at the national capital for the past three weeks. They are also selected for the Rajpath rally and cultural programmes.
NCC group commander Brigadier E Govind, Batallion commander Colonel Ashish Nautiyal and others congratulated Madhav for his historic achievement.
