Kerala reported 9,250 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, informed a press release from the office of Health Minister KK Shailaja.
8,215 persons developed the disease through contact among which the virus source of 757 is unknown. 111 health workers also developed the disease.
25 deaths were also confirmed of Covid-19 on Friday taking the official death toll to 955.
68,321 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. A record 8,048 recoveries were reported in the state.
Among the new Covid cases reported, 24 persons had returned from abroad while 143 returned from other states.
The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: Kozhikode – 1205, Malappuram – 1174, Thiruvananthapuram – 1072, Ernakulam – 911, Alappuzha – 793, Thrissur – 755, Kollam – 714, Palakkad – 672, Kannur – 556, Kottayam – 522, Kasaragod – 366, Pathanamthitta – 290, Idukki – 153 and Wayanad – 127.
The district-wise statistics of contact cases are: Kozhikode – 1171, Malappuram – 1125, Thiruvananthapuram – 878, Ernakulam – 753, Alappuzha – 778, Thrissur – 723, Kollam – 704, Kottayam – 499, Palakkad – 400, Kannur – 376, Kasaragod – 360, Pathanamthitta – 222, Wayanad – 115 and Idukki – 111.
Among the 111 health workers confirmed with Covid-19 on Friday, 22 each are from Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur, 20 from Ernakulam, 12 from Kannur, 11 from Pathanamthitta, 5 each are Malappuram and Kozhikode, 4 from Wayanad, 3 each from Kollam and Kasaragod and 2 each from Alappuzha and Palakkad.
