Kerala reports 3,423 COVID-19 cases Today

Kerala reports 3,423 COVID-19 cases; test positivity rate at 9.82 percent.34,847 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is at 9.82 percent. So far, 73,82,223 samples were tested in different priority groups. 27 deaths were confirmed in the state on Monday by NIV Alappuzha. With this, the total number of coronavirus fatalities rose to 2,843.

The district wise distribution of positive cases is: Malappuram – 626, Kozhikode – 507, Ernakulam – 377, Palakkad – 305, Thrissur – 259, Alappuzha – 242, Kollam – 234, Thiruvananthapuram – 222, Kottayam – 217, Kannur – 159, Pathanamthitta – 112, Wayanad – 65, Idukki – 55 and Kasaragod – 43.

Out of the total number of positive cases, 48 people came from outside the state. 2,982 people contracted the virus through contact. The virus source of 359 cases has not been identified.

The district wise distribution of contact cases is: Malappuram – 596, Kozhikode – 488, Ernakulam – 297, Palakkad – 185, Thrissur – 247, Alappuzha – 222, Kollam – 233, Thiruvananthapuram – 155, Kottayam – 197, Kannur – 135, Pathanamthitta – 72, Wayanad – 64, Idukki – 51 and Kasaragod – 40.

34 health workers tested Covid-19 positive on Monday. The district wise cases of Covid positive health workers are: Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad and Kozhikode – 5 each, Ernakulam, and Malappuram – 4 each, Pathanamthitta and Kannur – 3 each, Thrissur and Kasaragod – 2 each and Wayanad – 1.

4,494 people have recovered from the disease. The district wise statistics of negative cases are: Thiruvananthapuram – 227, Kollam – 333, Pathanamthitta – 250, Alappuzha – 202, Kottayam – 511, Idukki – 35, Ernakulam – 476, Thrissur – 590, Palakkad – 226, Malappuram – 694, Kozhikode – 495, Wayanad – 120, Kannur – 304 and Kasaragod – 31.

Currently, there are 60,504 people undergoing treatment in the state. 6,45,779 people have recovered from the disease.

2,80,375 people are under observation across various districts in the state. Out of this, 2,66,765 people are in home/institutional quarantine and 13,610 people are in hospitals. 1,312 people were taken to hospitals on Monday.
