Kerala reported 5,930 new Covid-19 cases Today, informed Health Minister K. K. Shailaja in a press release.
4,767 persons developed the disease through contact among which the virus source of 195 is unknown. 195 health workers also developed the disease.
38,259 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. 7,836 recoveries were also reported in the state. 22 deaths were also confirmed of Covid-19 on Monday taking the official death toll to 1,025.
Among the new Covid cases reported, 48 persons returned from abroad while 86 returned from other states.
The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: Kozhikode – 869, Malappuram – 740, Thrissur – 697, Thiruvananthapuram – 629, Alappuzha – 618, Ernakulam – 480, Kottayam – 382, Kollam – 343, Kasaragod – 295, Palakkad – 288, Kannur – 274, Pathanamthitta – 186, Idukki – 94 and Wayanad – 35.
The district-wise statistics of contact cases are: Kozhikode – 796, Malappuram – 584, Thrissur – 620, Thiruvananthapuram – 415, Alappuzha – 465, Ernakulam – 378, Kottayam – 320, Kollam – 315, Kasaragod – 246, Palakkad – 203, Kannur – 224, Pathanamthitta – 108, Idukki – 64 and Wayanad – 29.
Among the 195 health workers confirmed with Covid-19 on Monday, 76 are from Thiruvananthapuram, 23 are from Ernakulam, 19 are from Thrissur, 17 are from Kottayam, 13 are from Kannur, 10 each are from Kozhikode and Palakkad, 7 each are from Malappuram and Kasaragod, 5 are from Alappuzha, 3 each are from Kollam and Idukki, 2 are from Pathanamthitta.
