Kerala reports 5,792 COVID-19 cases Today

Kerala reports 5,792 COVID-19 cases Today. 6,620 recoveries were reported in the state on Tuesday. 56,157 samples were tested in the past 24-hours. 27 deaths due to Covid were also confirmed by NIV Alappuzha. With this, the death toll in the state due to coronavirus rose to 1,915.

The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: Malappuram – 776, Kollam – 682, Thrissur – 667, Kozhikode – 644, Ernakulam – 613, Kottayam – 429, Thiruvananthapuram – 319, Palakkad – 380, Alappuzha – 364, Kannur – 335, Pathanamthitta – 202, Idukki – 116, Wayanad – 97 and Kasaragod – 96.

4,985 persons contracted the virus through contact out of which the infection source of 639 is unknown. Out of the new patients, 104 had returned from outside the state.

The district-wise statistics of contact cases are: Malappuram – 734, Kollam – 674, Thrissur – 650, Kozhikode – 603, Ernakulam – 451, Kottayam – 427, Thiruvananthapuram – 286, Palakkad – 177, Alappuzha – 345, Kannur – 248, Pathanamthitta – 130, Idukki – 86, Wayanad – 82 and Kasaragod – 92.

64 health workers also tested positive for COVID-19. Among them, 15 are from Ernakulam, 11 are from Kozhikode, 9 each are from Pathanamthitta and Kannur, 4 each are from Thiruvananthapuram, Malappuram and Thrissur, 2 each are from Kollam, Palakkad, Kasaragod and Wayanad.

Negative Cases : Thiruvananthapuram – 561, Kollam – 622, Pathanamthitta – 154, Alappuzha – 397, Kottayam – 501, Idukki – 54, Ernakulam – 588, Thrissur – 723, Palakkad – 820, Malappuram – 497, Kozhikode – 831, Wayanad – 117, Kannur – 625 and Kasaragod – 130.

There are 70,070 active Coronavirus cases in Kerala while 4,61,394 have recovered. As many as 3,20,023 are under observation. Among them, 3,03,218 are in home/institutional quarantine while 16,805 are in hospitals. 1,353 were admitted to hospitals on Tuesday.

8 new Covid hotspots were identified in the state on Tuesday while 9 regions were removed from the list. There are a total of 599 hotspots in the state.
