Kerala on Sunday reported 5,440 Covid cases. 48,798 samples were tested in the past 24-hours. 24 deaths were also confirmed due to Covid by NIV Alappuzha. With this, the Covid death toll in the state touched 1,692.
4,699 persons contracted the virus through contact out of which the infection source of 585 is unknown. 51 health workers were also confirmed with Covid-19.
6,853 recoveries were also reported in the state on Sunday. The total number of COVID-19 recoveries in the state crossed 4 lakh mark (4,02,477) There are 81,823 active cases in the state.
The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: Ernakulam – 644, Thrissur – 641, Kozhikode – 575, Malappuram – 540, Kollam – 488, Alappuzha – 479, Thiruvananthapuram – 421, Kottayam – 406, Kannur – 344, Palakkad – 306, Idukki – 179, Kasaragod – 159, Pathanamthitta – 153 and Wayanad – 105.
Out of the new patients 105 returned from other states.
The district-wise statistics of contact cases are: Ernakulam – 471, Thrissur – 621, Kozhikode – 554, Malappuram – 489, Kollam – 482, Alappuzha – 444, Thiruvananthapuram – 333, Kottayam – 402, Kannur – 238, Palakkad – 183, Idukki – 146, Kasaragod – 157, Pathanamthitta – 87 and Wayanad – 92.
51 health workers also tested positive for Covid-19. Among them, 12 are from Thiruvananthapuram, 9 are from Ernakulam, 7 are from Kannur, 6 are from Thrissur, 5 are from Malappuram, 3 each are from Kozhikode and Palakkad, 2 each are from Kollam and Pathanamthitta, 1 each is from Kasaragod and Wayanad.
