Kerala reports 6,316 COVID-19 cases Today.56,993 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is at 11.08 percent. So far, 63,78,278 samples were tested in different priority groups. 28 deaths were confirmed in the state on Wednesday by NIV Alappuzha. With this, the total number of coronavirus fatalities rose to 2,298.

The district wise positive cases are;
Malappuram – 822, Kozhikode – 734, Ernakulam – 732, Thrissur – 655, Kottayam – 537, Thiruvananthapuram – 523, Alappuzha – 437, Palakkad – 427, Kollam – 366, Pathanamthitta – 299, Wayanad – 275, Kannur – 201, Idukki – 200 and Kasaragod – 108.
Out of the total number of positive cases, 98 people came from outside the state. 5,539 people contracted the virus through contact. The virus source of 634 cases has not been identified

The district wise  negative cases are;
Thiruvananthapuram – 465, Kollam – 390, Pathanamthitta – 193, Alappuzha – 922, Kottayam – 264, Idukki – 73, Ernakulam – 443, Thrissur – 537, Palakkad – 371, Malappuram – 1054, Kozhikode – 814, Wayanad – 108, Kannur – 258 and Kasaragod – 32.

The district wise  contact cases are;
Malappuram – 764, Kozhikode – 688, Ernakulam – 585, Thrissur – 697, Kottayam – 537, Thiruvananthapuram – 371, Alappuzha – 430, Palakkad – 269, Kollam – 358, Pathanamthitta – 220, Wayanad – 261, Kannur – 165, Idukki – 152 and Kasaragod – 102.

45 health workers tested COVID positive on Wednesday. The district wise cases of COVID positive health workers are: Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode – 6 each, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Palakkad and Kannur – 5 each, Malappuram – 4, Kollam and Thrissur – 3 each, Kasaragod – 2 and Alappuzha – 1.

3,09,280 people are under observation across various districts in the state. Out of this, 2,94,018 people are in home/institutional quarantine and 15,262 people are in hospitals. 1,716 people were taken to hospitals on Wednesday.4 new hotspots were identified in the state on Wednesday while 26 areas were removed from the list. In total, there are 479 hotspots in Kerala.
