Kerala reports 5,772 COVID-19 cases Today

6,719 recoveries were reported in the state on Saturday. 60,210 samples were tested in the past 24-hours. 25 deaths due to Covid were also confirmed by NIV Alappuzha. With this, the death toll in the state due to coronavirus rose to 2,022.

Ernakulam – 797, Malappuram – 764, Kozhikode – 710, Thrissur – 483, Palakkad – 478, Kollam – 464, Kottayam – 423, Thiruvananthapuram – 399, Alappuzha – 383, Pathanamthitta – 216, Kannur – 211, Idukki – 188, Wayanad – 152 and Kasaragod – 104.

Negative Cases
Thiruvananthapuram – 609, Kollam – 681, Pathanamthitta – 167, Alappuzha – 919, Kottayam – 271, Idukki – 72, Ernakulam – 658, Thrissur – 680, Palakkad – 590, Malappuram – 740, Kozhikode – 622, Wayanad – 79, Kannur – 473 and Kasaragod – 158.

53 health workers also tested positive for COVID-19. Among them, 11 are from Ernakulam, 10 are from Kannur, 5 each are from Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta and Kasaragod, 4 each are from Palakkad and Wayanad, 3 each are from Thrissur and Kozhikode, 2 are from Malappuram, 1 is from Kottayam.

There are 66,856 active Coronavirus cases in Kerala while 4,88,437 have recovered. As many as 3,18,079 are under observation. Among them, 3,01,749 are in home/institutional quarantine while 16,330 are in hospitals. 1,846 were admitted to hospitals on Saturday.

6 new Covid hotspots were identified in the state on Saturday while 3 regions were removed from the list. There are a total of 560 hotspots in the state.
