Kerala reports 3,272 new COVID cases on Monday.

Kerala reports 3,272 new COVID cases on Monday. 33,758 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is at 9.69 percent. So far, 66,42,364 samples were tested in different priority groups.

23 deaths were confirmed in the state on Monday by NIV Alappuzha. With this, the total number of coronavirus fatalities rose to 2,441.

The district wise distribution of positive cases is: Malappuram – 541, Kozhikode – 383, Thrissur – 304, Kollam – 292, Alappuzha – 287, Ernakulam – 278, Thiruvananthapuram – 255, Kottayam – 202, Palakkad – 202, Kannur – 154, Idukki – 146, Pathanamthitta – 121, Wayanad – 63 and Kasaragod – 44.

Out of the total number of positive cases, 49 people came from outside the state. 2,859 people contracted the virus through contact. The virus source of 328 cases has not been identified.

The district wise statistics of contact cases are: Malappuram – 514, Kozhikode – 362, Thrissur – 295, Kollam – 287, Alappuzha – 277, Ernakulam – 203, Thiruvananthapuram – 179, Kottayam – 199, Palakkad – 93, Kannur – 117, Idukki – 137, Pathanamthitta – 99, Wayanad – 58, and Kasaragod – 39.

36 health workers tested COVID positive on Monday. The district wise cases of COVID positive health workers are: Kannur – 10, Ernakulam – 7, Kozhikode – 6, Thiruvananthapuram – 4, Palakkad – 3, Thrissur – 2, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki and Wayanad – 1 each

5,590 people have recovered from the disease. The district wise statistics of negative cases are: Thiruvananthapuram – 380, Kollam – 332, Pathanamthitta – 169, Alappuzha – 537, Kottayam – 337, Idukki – 148, Ernakulam – 770, Thrissur – 734, Palakkad – 397, Malappuram – 764, Kozhikode – 629, Wayanad – 97, Kannur – 196 and Kasaragod – 60.

Currently, there are 61,209 people undergoing treatment in the state. 5,56,378 people have recovered from the disease.

3,11,237 people are under observation across various districts in the state. Out of this, 2,95,981 people are in home/institutional quarantine and 15,256 people are in hospitals. 1,716 people were taken to hospitals on Thursday.
