Kerala on Tuesday reported 5,457 new cases of Covid-19. 4,702 patients contracted the disease through contact. Among them, the virus source of 607 cases remains unknown. 7,015 recoveries were also reported. 24 deaths were confirmed in the state taking the COVID death toll to 1,376. Out of the new patients 88 had returned from outside the state.
The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: Thrissur – 730, Ernakulam – 716, Malappuram – 706, Alappuzha – 647, Kozhikode – 597, Thiruvananthapuram – 413, Kottayam – 395, Palakkad – 337, Kollam – 329, Kannur – 258, Pathanamthitta – 112, Wayanad – 103, Kasaragod – 65 and Idukki – 49.
The district-wise statistics of contact cases are: Thrissur – 717, Ernakulam – 521, Malappuram – 664, Alappuzha – 594, Kozhikode – 570, Thiruvananthapuram – 288, Kottayam – 391, Palakkad – 164, Kollam – 326, Kannur – 198, Pathanamthitta – 79, Wayanad – 100, Kasaragod – 62 and Idukki – 28.
60 health workers also tested positive for Covid-19. Among them, 12 each are from Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur, 11 are from Kozhikode, 10 are from Ernakulam, 5 are from Pathanamthitta, 3 are from Thrissur, 2 each are from Kollam, Malappuram and Kasaragod, 1 is from Palakkad.
The district-wise recoveries are: Thiruvananthapuram – 654, Kollam – 534, Pathanamthitta – 153, Alappuzha – 532, Kottayam – 236, Idukki – 72, Ernakulam – 914, Thrissur – 1103, Palakkad – 188, Malappuram – 993, Kozhikode – 947, Wayanad – 111, Kannur – 368 and Kasaragod – 210.
