Kerala reports 2885 COVID-19 Cases Today

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reported 2,885 fresh Covid-19 cases on Saturday, informed the office of the health minister K K Shailaja. Out of the fresh infections, 2,640 were reported through contact and the infection source of 287 remain unknown.

15 deaths were also confirmed due to Covid-19 taking the total death toll to 425. 55 health workers were also confirmed of the infection on Saturday.

1,944 recoveries were also reported on Saturday.

The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: Thiruvananthapuram – 566 (541 through contact), Kollam – 265 (253 through contact), Pathanamthitta – 88 (64 through contact), Alappuzha – 163 (148 contact cases), Kottayam – 166 (159), Idukki – 86 (57), Ernakulam – 188 (159), Thrissur – 172 (164), Palakkad – 184 (157), Malappuram – 310 (286), Kozhikode – 286 (265), Wayanad – 48 (33), Kannur – 207 (190) and Kasaragod – 150 (149).

Among the new COVID cases reported on Saturday, 42 persons had returned from abroad while 137 returned from other states.

Among the 55 health workers confirmed with COVID-19 on Saturday, 18 are from Thiruvananthapuram, 10 from Ernakulam, 7 from Kollam, 6 from Thrissur, 5 from Kannur, 3 each from Malappuram and Kozhikode and 1 each from Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Palakkad.
