The district-wise statistics of positive cases: Kozhikode – 374, Alappuzha – 266, Ernakulam – 246, Malappuram – 229, Thiruvananthapuram – 199, Kollam – 154, Kottayam – 145, Thrissur – 141, Kannur – 114, Pathanamthitta – 97, Kasaragod – 86, Palakkad – 68, Wayanad – 52 and Idukki – 41.
Meanwhile, 2 of the UK returnees tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. So far, 88 UK returnees tested positive for the virus infection. 72 of them have recovered. 10 among the patients were identified with the mutant virus strain.
So far, 1,10,68,239 samples including routine sample, sentinel sample, CBNAAT, Trunat, POCT, PCR, RTLAMP, antigen were sent for the tests.
16 deaths were confirmed due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths in the state touched 4,105. Test results from Alappuzha NIV are awaited to confirm other suspected Covid deaths. 34 of the coronavirus patients came from outside the state. 1,987 people contracted the virus through contact. The infection source of 169 persons remains unidentified.

22 health workers also tested positive. Among them 7 were from Kannur, 5 were from Ernakulam, 2 each were from Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Wayanad and Kasaragod, 1 each were from Malappuram and Kozhikode.
Meanwhile, 5,037 recoveries were reported on Monday. The district-wise statistics of recoveries is: Thiruvananthapuram – 247, Kollam – 331, Pathanamthitta – 488, Alappuzha – 531, Kottayam – 861, Idukki – 206, Ernakulam – 389, Thrissur – 395, Palakkad – 151, Malappuram – 391, Kozhikode – 617, Wayanad – 142, Kannur – 207 and Kasaragod – 81.
There are 55,468 active Covid-19 cases in the state. 9,77,012 people have recovered from the disease. 2,42,070 people are currently under observation in the state. Out of this, 2,33,624 are under home/institutional quarantine and 8,446 people are in hospitals. 825 people were taken to hospitals on Monday.
