Kerala reports 1,648 Covid-19 cases Today

Thiruvananthapuram: Taking a dip from Sunday’s 3000 mark, Kerala on Monday reported 1,648 new Covid-19 cases, informed the office of health minister K K Shailaja. The highest number of cases were reported from Kannur followed by Thiruvananthapuram.

 

1495 of the new cases were reported through contact. Out of the new cases, the infection source of 112 is unknown. 61 heath workers also reported to have contracted the virus. 12 deaths were also reported on Monday taking the Covid death toll in state to 359.

Meanwhile, 2,246 people under treatment recovered from the virus infection.

The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: Thiruvananthapuram – 253 (237 through contact), Kollam – 71 (67 through contact), Pathanamthitta – 24 (21 through contact), Alappuzha – 78 (77 contact cases), Kottayam – 154 (149), Idukki – 4 (3), Ernakulam – 130 (114), Thrissur – 128 (120), Palakkad – 118 (108), Malappuram – 187 (183), Kozhikode – 103 (98), Wayanad – 4 (2), Kannur – 260 (213) and Kasaragod – 134 (103).

Among the new COVID cases reported on Monday, 29 persons had returned from abroad while 54 returned from other states.

A total of 61 health workers were confirmed with COVID-19 on Monday. Among them 30 are from Kannur, 10 from Thiruvananthapuram, 10 from Kasaragod, 5 from Thrissur, 3 from Pathanamthitta and 2 from Ernakulam.

Meanwhile, 2,246 recoveries were also reported on Monday. The district-wise statistics of negative cases are: Thiruvananthapuram – 614, Kollam – 131, Pathanamthitta – 123, Alappuzha – 132, Kottayam – 115, Idukki – 32, Ernakulam – 184, Thrissur – 155, Palakkad – 95, Malappuram – 202, Kozhikode – 278, Wayanad – 20, Kannur – 70 and Kasaragod – 95.
