Kerala on Saturday reported 7,201 Covid cases. 64,051 samples were tested in the past 24-hours. 28 deaths were also confirmed due to Covid by NIV Alappuzha. With this, the Covid death toll in the state touched 1,668.
6,316 persons contracted the virus through contact out of which the infection source of 728 is unknown. 61 health workers were also confirmed of Covid-19.
7,120 recoveries were also reported in the state on Saturday. There are 83,261 active cases in the state.
The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: Ernakulam – 1042, Kozhikode – 971, Thrissur – 864, Thiruvananthapuram – 719, Alappuzha – 696, Malappuram – 642, Kollam – 574, Kottayam – 500, Palakkad – 465, Kannur – 266, Pathanamthitta – 147, Wayanad – 113, Idukki – 108 and Kasaragod – 94.
Out of the new patients 96 returned from other states.
