Kerala reported 51,570 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, informed the health department in a press release. The test positivity was recorded as 49.89 per cent.
The district-wise statistics of positive cases: Ernakulam-9704, Thrissur-7289, Thiruvananthapuram- 5746, Kottayam-3889, Kozhikode-3872, Kollam-3836, Palakkad-3412, Alappuzha-2861, Malappuram-2796, Pathanamthitta-2517, Kannur-1976, Idukki-1565, Wayanad-1338 and Kasaragod-769.
A total of 1,03,366 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
5,27,362 people are currently under observation in the state. Out of this, 5,14,734 people are under home/institutional quarantine and 12,628 people are in hospitals. 1,259 people were taken to hospitals on Sunday.
Among the 3,54,595 active Covid cases reported, only 3.4 per cent of patients are admitted to hospitals/field hospitals.
