Kerala reported 26,514 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, informed the health department in a press release. The test positivity rate also continued to rose and touched 47.72 per cent.
The district-wise statistics of positive cases: Ernakulam-4443, Thiruvananthapuram- 3256, Kozhikode- 2979, Thrissur-2687, Kollam-2421, Kottayam-1900, Malappuram-1710, Palakkad-1498, Kannur-1260, Alappuzha-1165, Pathanamthitta-1065, Idukki-1033, Kasaragod-573 and Wayanad 524.
A total of 55,557 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
4,31,176 people are currently under observation in the state. Out of this, 4,21,138 people are under home/institutional quarantine and 10,038 people are in hospitals. 881 people were taken to hospitals on Monday.
Among the 2,60,271 active Covid cases reported, only 3.8 per cent of patients are admitted to hospitals/field hospitals.
Along with 13 new COVID deaths, the health department also reported 158 deaths that are newly certified as Covid-19 deaths based on the revised rules. With this, the death toll climbed to 51,987 in the state.
Meanwhile, 30,710 recoveries were also reported in the state.
