Kerala reported 7,354 Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, informed Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He was addressing the media after an all party meeting here.
52,755 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. There are 6,364 contact cases in Kerala on Tuesday. Among them, the virus source of 672 is unknown.
At present there are 61,791 active cases in Kerala. Among them, 130 are health workers. Meanwhile, 3,420 have recovered from the virus, the CM added.
22 deaths were also confirmed of Covid-19 on Tuesday taking the official death toll to 719.
The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: Malappuram – 1040, Thiruvananthapuram – 935, Ernakulam – 859, Kozhikode – 837, Kollam – 583, Alappuzha – 524, Thrissur – 484, Kasaragod – 453, Kannur – 432, Palakkad – 374, Kottayam – 336, Pathanamthitta – 271, Wayanad – 169 and Idukki – 57.
Among the new Covid cases reported, 58 persons had returned from abroad while 130 returned from other states.
The district-wise statistics of contact cases are: Malappuram – 1024, Thiruvananthapuram – 898, Ernakulam – 843, Kozhikode – 827, Kollam – 566, Alappuzha – 499, Thrissur – 476, Kasaragod – 400, Kannur – 387, Palakkad – 365, Kottayam – 324, Pathanamthitta – 224, Wayanad – 157 and Idukki – 46.
