Kerala on Sunday reported 2,154 new COVID-19 cases, informed the office of Health Minister K K Shailaja. Among them, 1,962 people contracted the disease through contact.
7 deaths were also confirmed of COVID-19 in the state taking the death toll to 287. 49 persons who tested positive for COVID-19 had returned from abroad and 110 returned from other states. Out of the contact cases, the infection source of 174 cases is unknown.
The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: Thiruvananthapuram – 310, Kozhikode – 304, Ernakulam – 231, Kottayam – 137, Kollam – 223, Malappuram – 195, Kasaragod – 159, Kollam 151, Thrissur – 151, Pathanamthitta – 133, Kannur – 112, Alappuzha – 92, Palakkad – 45, Idukki – 35 and Wayanad – 13.
The district-wise statistics of contact cases are: Thiruvananthapuram – 305, Kozhikode – 292, Kottayam – 212, Ernakulam – 202, Malappuram – 184, Thrissur – 145, Kollam – 142, Kasaragod – 139, Pathanamthitta – 107, Kannur – 90, Alappuzha – 88, Palakkad -26, Idukki 23 and Wayanad – 7.
