Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala on Saturday reported 4,644 single-day Covid-19 cases, informed Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan while briefing media after the Covid evaluation meet here. 18 deaths were also confirmed in the state taking the death toll to 519.
Out of the new cases, 3,781 infections were through contact. Out of the new cases, infection source of 498 persons remains unknown.
86 health workers were also confirmed of Covid-19 on Saturday.
The highest number of cases were reported from Thiruvananthapuram with 824 infections. 47,452 samples were tested in the past 24 hours.
2,862 recoveries were also reported in Kerala on Saturday.
There are 37,488 active active Covid-19 cases in the state at present, CM added.
