Kerala reports 5,218 COVID-19 cases Today.56,453 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is at 9.24 percent. So far, 70,56,318 samples were tested in different priority groups. 33 deaths were confirmed in the state on Tuesday by NIV Alappuzha. With this, the total number of coronavirus fatalities rose to 2,680.

Out of the total number of positive cases, 72 people came from outside the state. 4,478 people contracted the virus through contact. The virus source of 622 cases has not been identified.

46 health workers tested COVID positive on Tuesday. The district wise cases of Covid positive health workers are: Kannur – 7, Palakkad – 6, Pathanamthitta – 5, Thiruvananthapuram – 3, Malappuram and Wayanad – 2 each, Kollam, Idukki and Kozhikode – 1 each. Currently, there are 57,757 people undergoing treatment in the state. 6,16,666 people have recovered from the disease.
3,04,165 people are under observation across various districts in the state. Out of this, 2,90,987 people are in home/institutional quarantine and 13,178 people are in hospitals. 1,357 people were taken to hospitals on Tuesday.
