Out of the total number of positive cases, 92 people came from outside the state. 5,474 people contracted the virus through contact. The virus source of 628 cases has not been identified. 25 deaths were confirmed in the state on Saturday by NIV Alappuzha. With this, the total number of coronavirus fatalities rose to 2,196.

56 health workers tested COVID positive on Saturday. The district wise cases of COVID positive health workers are: Thiruvananthapuram – 10, Kannur – 9, Kozhikode – 8, Kasaragod – 7 Pathanamthitta – 5, Ernakulam and Palakkad – 4 each, Thrissur and Malappuram – 3 each, Kollam, Alappuzha and Wayanad – 1 each.
3,12,251 people are under observation across various districts in the state. Out of this, 2,96,223 people are in home/institutional quarantine and 16,028 people are in hospitals. 1,701 people were taken to hospitals on Saturday. Six new hotspots were identified in the state on Saturday while 2 areas were removed from the list. In total, there are 530 hotspots in Kerala.
