Kerala reports 7,002 Covid-19 cases today

Kerala on Friday reported 7,002 new Covid cases, informed Health Minister K. K. Shailaja. 63,384 samples were tested in the past 24-hours. 27 deaths were also confirmed due to Covid by NIV Alappuzha. With this, the Covid death toll in the state touched 1,640. 6,192 persons contracted the virus through contact out of which the infection source of 646 is unknown. 66 health workers were also confirmed of Covid-19. 7,854 recoveries were also reported in the state on Friday. There are 83,208 active cases in the state.

Positive cases
Thrissur 951, Kozhikode 763, Malappuram 761, Ernakulam 673, Kollam 671, Alappuzha 643, Thiruvananthapuram 617, Palakkad 464, Kottayam 461, Kannur 354, Pathanamthitta 183, Wayanad 167, Idukki 157 and Kasaragod 137.

Contact cases
Thrissur 940, Kozhikode 735, Malappuram 716, Ernakulam 488, Kollam 662, Alappuzha 633, Thiruvananthapuram 463, Palakkad 315, Kottayam 451, Kannur 259, Pathanamthitta 119, Wayanad 161, Idukki 119 and Kasaragod 131.

Negative cases
Thiruvananthapuram 824, Kollam 578, Pathanamthitta 152, Alappuzha 321, Kottayam 777, Idukki 104, Ernakulam 1075, Thrissur 1042, Palakkad 327, Malappuram 1180, Kozhikode 908, Wayanad 134, Kannur 393 and Kasaragod 39 tested negative today.

The disease affected 66 health workers. Ernakulam 15, Malappuram 11, Kozhikode 9, Thiruvananthapuram 6, Kollam, Kannur 5 each, Kasaragod 4, Pathanamthitta, Thrissur 3 each, Kottayam 2, Alappuzha, Palakkad and Wayanad 1 each were affected by the disease today.
