After a slight drop in the single-day Covid cases in Kerala for the past days, on Friday it again crossed the 2000 mark and reported 2479 fresh cases. Out of the new cases 2255 people contracted the disease through contcat, informed a press statement from the office of Health Minister K K Shailaja.
Out of the new cases, the infection source of 149 is unknown. Kerala also reported 11 deaths and 2,716 recoveries on Friday.
The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: Thiruvananthapuram – 477 (463 through contact), Kollam – 241 (45 through contact), Pathanamthitta – 141 (99 through contact), Alappuzha – 106 (91 contact cases), Kottayam – 178 (177), Idukki – 29 (22), Ernakulam – 274 (267), Thrissur – 204 (140), Palakkad – 42 (36), Malappuram – 178 (169), Kozhikode – 167 (155), Wayanad – 84 (68), Kannur – 115 (102) and Kasaragod – 236 (225).
Among the new COVID cases reported on Friday, 59 persons had returned from abroad while 71 returned from other states. Kerala reported.
A total of 34 health workers were confirmed with COVID-19 on Friday. Among them, 10 are from Thiruvananthapuram, 8 from Kannur, 5 each from Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha, 4 from Ernakulam and 1 each Kollam and Thrissur districts.
